Amazon has upgraded its Kindle firmware, now the ebook reader can handle PDF documents better, no more emailing them to the device. Also apparently the battery life has been increased significantly. We will have to wait and see.

Iphone to be available at Tescos

For those of us in the UK, Tescos will be selling Iphones in the very near future through its subsidiary, Tesco Mobile, which has joint ventures with all the UK phone companies, including O2. No pricing is available as yet, but we can hope for a decrease in prices somewhere along the line.

Play Quake 1 in your browser

I found this link today, you can now play Quake 1 in your browser. Speed isnt bad either. Brings back the day when I used to play it on my old 386, with 4 MEG of ram. I still can't play the game now, I suppose you have to be of a certain age to play these types of games. Now where did I put Bejewelled.

Microsoft says turn off javascript

Apparently there is another new zero day security exploit relating to Internet Explorer and Symantec is advising people to disable Javascript again. Sounds to me its about time users started using Firefox or Chrome or some other safer browser. Microsoft will eventually get round to patching it, until then, you had best hold your breath if you are using IE.

Well you can now download a VirtualBox or VMware version of the new Google OS and have a play with it. It is about 350 meg download and available on most or your local torrent sites. Its also available from gdgt if you don't like torrents.

It has been reported by Sophos. the Internet security experts, that there is a new worm doing the rounds for all jailbroken Iphones and Ipod Touch's. It seems it is looking for your bank details, so be warned all you people with jailbroken Iphones.

TWIT.TV now on Roku

Twit.tv and several other tech video podcasts are now available on the Roku box. In all 13 channels from the Roku Channel Store are available including twit.tv, blip.tv and revision3, all very respected in their own rights but now available to the unwashed masses......that is as long as your in the States as the Roku box is not available anywhere else as yet. Those of us from other shores must wait expectantly for Roku to spread their wings and fly over the Atlantic or even the Pacific.
